The New York Red Bulls II of the United Soccer League (USL) has announced that Ponce, a five-year Red Bulls veteran, has been named the Director of Business Operations. Effective December 1st, Ponce will oversee the day-to-day business operations for the club including initiatives supporting ticket sales, marketing partnerships, and strategy. His prior positions include the Director of Sales Service and Ticket Operations for the Red Bulls as well as a Premium Sales Representative with the New Jersey Nets of the NBA.

Reflecting upon his educational experience that propelled his professional career, Ponce says, “I believe my education at Centenary not only prepared me for my career in sports management but also shaped who I am. The business department supported me throughout my college experience and that closeness is something that is hard to find at just any institution.  The belief that the faculty had in me the entire time inspired me to push harder and to keep going further in my career.”

In addition, Ponce has served as an adjunct professor for his alma mater and has co-taught Professional Selling in Sports with Professor David Perricone, Assistant Professor of Sports Management at Centenary University. This course was created to allow Centenary students a hands on opportunity at a position that is most readily available in the sports industry.

“Jamie Ponce has been thriving in the sports management industry, plus he also gives back to his alma mater by sharing his knowledge,” says Professor Perricone. “As a result of him developing the Professional Selling in Sports course, many students have secured jobs and internships in the sports industry. He is a great asset to the field and our students and I am certain he will continue to succeed in his new position.”

Ponce resides in Hackettstown with his wife, Janice, and his three children.
