The Centenary Society

Centenary University’s 150-year history is filled with examples of extraordinary people coming together to do remarkable things. The Centenary Society was created with this legacy in mind.

Society members share our vision, entering into a unique partnership with the University and taking the lead to provide financial resources that assist Centenary in fulfilling its mission.

Centenary Society members benefit from upper tier amenities, including exclusive communication with the president and other University leaders, invitations to special events and social gatherings, personal visits and more.

Gifts of $1,000 or more made during the University’s fiscal year (July 1 to June 30) qualify donors for membership in the Centenary Society. Benefactors who contribute $100,000 or more over a lifetime are also eligible for membership.

A note about the Cornelius Walsh Society

We are grateful to the loyal and dedicated donors who have been members of the Cornelius Walsh Society and look forward to welcoming past members to become Charter Members of the Centenary Society.

What gifts count towards my Centenary Society membership?

The Centenary Society recognizes donors who support the Centenary with gifts totaling $1,000 or more to any area of the University. Currently, our highest priority is the Centenary Fund (unrestricted gifts). Your support of the Centenary Fund gives Centenary immediate, flexible resources to quickly respond to the evolving needs of the University, provide student scholarships and financial assistance, and pursue bold learning initiatives both in and out of the classroom.

Will my spouse also be a member?

Both spouses are members of the Centenary Society with a joint gift of $1,000 or more within a fiscal year.

My employer will match my contributions to Centenary.  Will they count toward my membership?

Yes. The University would not have access to your employer’s matching gift without your own contribution, so your employer’s gift will count toward your annual Centenary Society membership. When you make your gift to the Centenary Society, please let us know that we should expect your employer’s matching gift, so they were can be sure to credit you appropriately.

How long will I be a member of the Centenary Society once I make my gift?

The Centenary Society recognizes gifts made within a fiscal year
(July 1 – June 30). Therefore, membership is renewable on an annual basis.
